Passive akustische Lokalisation

Wolgang Würfel

Diplomarbeit (Download: WinWord Datei, gezippt 1.36 MB), November 1997

This diploma thesis summarizes the most important techniques and signal processing algorithms used for the passive localization of an acoustic source with relatively simple means. The localization process consists of determining an angle (in 2-D plane) or a vector pointing to the source (in 3-D space) and, if possible, of measuring the distance to a given point, using a number of acoustic sensors. If both the angle (or vector) and the distance are known, the source position is fixed in 2-D or 3-D space, respectively. Some experimental results are given to show the real- world usability and the achievable accuracy.
