Modelling Musical Structure with Genetric Algorithms

My work for this project concerns about genetic algorithms in the area of algorithmic composition. Starting with a historical overview, a profound introduction into the principles of these algorithms is given, followed by a detailed description of important research in that field. The main focus of this work is to compare the effectiveness of different genetic operations by reconstructing already composed musical material.
