An Investigation of Advanced Cellular Automata Applications in Regard to Musical Structure Genesis
Jamilla Balint
Cellular Automata are a class of dynamic systems, where space and time are discrete. Cells are evolving accordingly to their neighbouring cells and produce a complex system behaviour by the application of simple initial configurations. This class of algorithms can be used for modelling and analysis of phenomenons like the diffusion of gas, liquids, tribological effects or swarm behaviour. The author investigates complex applications, which are applied in physics, medical sciense or biology concerning their usability for musical structure genesis.
