Sounding objects: simulating surface sounds and exploring the mapping possibilities of the reacTable

Gerda Strobl

The reacTable is an electronic music instrument with a tangible interface which is currently developed by the Interactive System Group at the MTG in Barcelona. In this project paper I describe new sounding objects of the reacTable that simulate surface sounds and explore intuitively the mapping possibilities of the table. The new objects are implemented using the open source program PD.
