Subjective HRTF adaptation using an objective model of head-related transfer functions
Josef Hölzl
Recent research indicates that is necessary to provide ways of adapting HRTF s to individuals since generalized HRTF models result in perceptual problems and individualized HRTFs are costly to measure. The aim of this project is to propose a method to adapt HRTFs to individuals by customizing an objective HRTF model. The objective model is built by identifying which HRFT parameters affect spatial audio perception, informed by the literature and the results of the analysis of existing HRTF databases using principal components analysis (PCA).
