Der Nachtigallengesang in der Europäischen Kunstmusik
Helwig Brunner
Music and bird singing are juxtaposed as comparable phenomena. The musical realization of a nightingales's song is demonstrated with examples chosen from renaissance to present. The possibilities and limitations of such a realization are examined and discussed by the comparative acoustical analysis of a nightingale's song and its corresponding musical passages.
